In February of 2020 the operating time of industrial gas turbine driven equipment designed by UEC-Aviadvigatel exceeded 30 million hours since entry into service.
Since 1992 the Perm Design Bureau has developed more than 100 modifications of gas turbine units (GTU) for gas compressor packages and power gensets. On the basis of aircraft engines D-30 and PS-90A which acquired a good reputation on the wing of the best Russian airliners - IL and TU, Perm designers developed and put into operation the following gas turbine units (GTU) for industrial application:
- with 4, 6, 10, 12, 16 and 25 MW capacity – integrated into the gas compressor packages;
- with 2.5, 4, 6, 12, 16, 25 MW capacity – for driving turbogenerators integrated into gas turbine gensets.
As of 01.02.2020, production plant JSC “UEC-Perm Engines” has produced more than 1000 GTUs (367 – for power generation and 662 - for oil and gas transportation) having a total capacity of more than 12.8 GW.
For more than a quarter of a century, gas turbine units designed by UEC-Aviadvigatel have been continuously operating at the facilities of major gas and energy companies: Gazprom, LUKOIL, Surgutneftegaz, Rosneft, NOVATEK, Irkutsk Oil Company and others.
Perm GTUs operate reliably in all climatic conditions on the territory from the Republic of Belarus to Sakhalin Island, from the central regions of Turkey to the Kara sea coast; and participate in important projects Nord stream, Power of Siberia, Yamal and others. Aviadvigatel's equipment that uses associated petroleum gas helps to dispose of it and makes customers’ business more environmentally friendly and profitable.
UEC-Aviadvigatel not only develops gas turbine equipment based on high aviation technologies, but also provides the work package on the equipment commissioning and customer’s personnel training, as well as a wide range of services. The Perm design bureau was the first among gas turbine equipment suppliers to implement maintenance of power units during the life cycle with payment for actual machine-hours.
The significant projects of UEC-Aviadvigatel in recent years include the development of the low-emission combustion chamber (LECC) for industrial turbines, which reduces the hazardous emissions level to the standards of GOST 29328-92. In line with the request of Gazprom, the Perm design bureau started works on developing an industrial engine with a low-emission combustion chamber on the basis of the PD-14 core having 12 MW nominal capacity.
Aviadvigatel’s products are recognizable for their high consumer qualities and life parameters with low maintenance and repair costs. Long-term operation of Perm GTUs proved their reliability and efficiency.
