Aviadvigatel-produced gas turbine CHP plant is put into service in Solikamsk

On December 21, 2007, on the eve of Energetic Day, 12 MW gas turbine-driven CHP plant was put into service at the Main Mining Department of "Silvinit" OJSC (Solikamsk town, Perm Region). The plant is equipped with two "Ural-6000" gas turbine gensets produced by Aviadvigatel (a company of Perm Motors Group).

The specialty of this project is that the contract was performed on turn-key basis. This understood that Aviadvigatel was entirely responsible for the gas turbine-driven CHP plant production, integration and installation. Such technical capabilities of Aviadvigatel make the company more competitive at the market of distributed power generation.

Then and there, Aviadvigatel, by producing and commissioning such power plants at the territory of Russia, has been taking direct and active part in the development of small-size distributed power generation industry, which is one of the most fast-moving industries of the modern Russian economy. For example, this power plant at "Silvinit" OJSC will make it possible to improve electric power supply reliability and save money for electric power transportation. The CHP plant installed at the Main Mining Department of the company will contribute to 40% of electric power and 100% of heat power demands. The project will be paid back within 5-6 years.

As Alexander Inozemtsev, General Designer of Aviadvigatel, said "power generating and gas turbine technologies are currently widely used worldwide due to the highest efficiency of gas turbine power plants and gensets. Cost of 1 kW/hr is 30-35% lower than that offered at the market. Many European countries have enacted to construct only such power plants. Thus the top managers and shareholders of Silvinit have taken a forward-looking decision to construct a plant of this type. Aviadvigatel supplied two gas turbine gensets, which feature up-to-date aviation technologies and the high-tech solutions whatever existing in Russia and in the world. We not only supplied the equipment; moreover we will perform maintenance and render all required services anywhen and evermore".

Perm gas turbine gensets have some performance and economic advantages compared to foreign-made and Russian counterparts. First of all it's a good price/quality ratio and in particular, the equipment is 1.5-time lower in cost that that of foreign-origin and the equipment quality meets world standards. Geographical juxtaposition is of no little significance. It makes it possible to save time and money for servicing and maintenance.

Rostiam Sabirov, Silvinit's General Director:

"The CHP- plant construction is the first teeth cut of Silvinit in implementation of such projects. As soon as the project efficiency will have been analyzed and the Russian policy in power generation industry will have been cleared up, Silvinit will continue to expand its own power generation capacities.
