The day before Republic Day of Bashkortostan Perm engine-builders presented an excellent gift to Ufa citizens - GTES-25P gas turbine generating set, developed and produced by Aviadvigatel OJSC, began its operation in Bashkir generating company Ltd (the oldest TEC-1 cogeneration heat and power plant in Ufa).
One of the significant investment projects of Bashkir power engineers during the last two years was the allocation of GTES-25P gas turbine generating set on the territory of Ufimskaya TEC-1 cogeneration heat and power plant in the scope of the program aimed at technical reequipment, reconstruction and capital development of generating capacities. The choice of the Perm equipment was based on the long-standing cooperation of Bashkortostan power engineers with perm engine manufacturers: since the year 2000 three
Ural-4000 gas turbine generating sets, developed and produced by Aviadvigatel OJSC, have been successfully operating on Bashkirenergo OJSC facilities.
According to A.U. Doronin, General Director of Bashkirenergo OJSC «this project is notable because of two factors. Firstly, in the republic it was the first 22.5 megawatt generating set installed at Ufimskaya TEC-1 cogeneration heat and power plant during the post-soviet period. Secondly, the project of gas turbine generating set of such power based on PS-90À aircraft engine was for the first time in Russia implemented here».
DESIGN OF GTU-TEC POWER GENERATION MODULE
Power generation module of Ufimskaya TEC-1 cogeneration heat and power plant is GTES-25P gas turbine generating set with the nominal power of 22.5 megawatt designed for combined generation of electricity and heat. One of such generating sets is enough to deliver light to approximately 20 thousand flats and heat to 2 500 flats. Gas turbine equipped with a recovery-boiler having the fuel use ratio of 85% meets the latest requirements.
The replacement of the old facilities of Ufimskaya TEC-1 cogeneration heat and power plant by the advanced gas turbine equipment developed and produced by Aviadvigatel OJSC allows to improve the plant performance as a whole and what is more important - to enhance the safety of electricity and heat supply in the capital of the republic, - reckons Aleksey Doronin.

GTES-25P generating set in-cludes the following principal modules:
- engine module;
- exhaust section module;
- engine oil supply module;
- reduction gear and generator module;
- reduction gear and generator oil supply module;
- air filter device;
- electrical module;
- control module.
The main module of the generating set is GTE-25P gas turbine with PS-90EU-25 engine (with two-shaft gas generator and 3-stage power turbine) developed by Aviadvigatel OJSC.
The genset design incorporates ÒÕ56/1C reducing gear of the German company Flender and generator (serial manufacturer is Privod HK OJSC). The genset is equipped with the automatic control system which ensures centralized control on all operation stages by one controller.
GTES-25P design consists of three separate fully factory-assembled block-modules of container type which are mounted at operational site. This design meets the latest requirements and is considered to be one of the modern engineering solutions.

It is important to underline that TEC-1 managers didn`t need to attract additional personnel to put the gas turbine generating set into operation. A group of appropriate specialists was trained in advance for the genset operation and maintenance. This training was especially organized by Aviadvigatel OJSC. They also passed special training at UTK Bashkirenergo OJSC.
It is also important that Perm gas turbine generating sets have several technical and economical advantages comparing with foreign and domestic analogues. Firstly, it is an optimal price and quality balance.
PERSPECTIVES
GTES-25P is the first power machine of such power developed by specialists of Perm Design Bureau. The appearance of this new product in the range of power generating sets rated at 2.5...25 MW allowed Aviadvigatel to expand the application of gas turbine power equipment of in-house design.
Moreover, Perm engine-builders take direct participation in Russian power machines engineering rebirth by manufacturing and putting into operation such type of power generating facilities as Ufimskaya GTU-TEC. As president of Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev declares «this is one of the priority directions of new, modern and power-efficient economy».
