500th GAS TURBINE ENGINE MANUFACTURED IN PERM
January of the current year was marked by a great event: the assembly of the 500th industrial engine started in PMZ shops. GTU-16P gas turbine based on PS-90GP-1 engine (s/n 83-168) became «Hero of the day».
According to Oleg Skachkov, Deputy Assembly Shop Manager of PMZ, the staff takes pride in their participation in such an outstanding event. The assembly of the jubilee engine was entrusted to the specialists of Shop Area 2 under the guidance of Albert Dobrovolsky. The best assembly crew of Viktor Korobeynikov, which has always been noted for the highest quality of its work, will prepare the machine for testing.
After checking all of the machine's parameters, including its efficiency and performance of all the systems, the 500th gas turbine will be transported to Yamalo-Nenetsky autonomous district to work as a back-up engine at Gazprom Transgaz Surgut Ltd and will ensure uninterrupted operation of Purtazovskaya compressor station.
Built in Arctic climatic conditions, Purtazovskaya compressor station is a part of Zapolyarnoye-Novy Urengoy main gas linear pipeline, and is considered to be one of the most sophisticated compressor stations.
Today 22 gas compressor plants designed by NPO Iskra OJSC are in operation at Purtazovskaya compressor station. These units are based on Perm-built gas turbines with a total of 352 MW aggregate capacity.
