Representatives from Silvinit OJSC headed by Alexander Chudinov, Chief Power Engineer, representatives from Bashkir Power Generating Company OJSC and Energia Service OJSC came to Perm to take part in discussions.

Representatives from TKG-6 OJSC - Ivanovsky Branch being busy with preparations for the coming heating season did not come but they sent their written comments and recommendations concerning operation of gas turbine power plants. Manufacturers were represented by: Vladimir Gornov, Operation Manager, Elektrotyazhmash-Privod Ltd (Lysva);  Chief Designer's Division for gas turbine power generating plants and facilities for their application, headed by Daniil Sulimov; representatives of Aviadvigatel's Operation and Maintenance Department headed by Valeriy Chernov, Deputy General Designer for Operation.

The practical value of such meetings cannot be overestimated. The most important thing about them is that equipment operators meet equipment designers and manufacturers. This permits everyone to express their opinion on the operation of gas turbine power plants, and to timely formulate and communicate specific proposals on product and service optimization. Participants of the conference have different experience in operation of Perm-built gas turbine power plants. Power generating company from Bashkortostan installed one Ural-4000 GTPP in Bolsheustikinskoye settlement in 2000 and two plants in Agidel in 2002. In Ivanovo City, two Ural-6000 gas turbine-driven CHP plants have been supplying heat and power to citizens and enterprises for four years. In December of the current year, Silvinit's CHPP will arrive at its first anniversary of operation. Independently of their experience in the operation of Perm-built equipment, all the participants were truly interested in information exchange and solution of emerging problems. All practical comments were taken note of by Aviadvigatel representatives.

At the end of the conference, Design Bureau representatives received positive comments on their equipment. In particular, Yuri Kortov, Deputy Chief Engineer of Energia Service, said the following:
- Our company was servicing Karmanovskaya State District Power Plant. After Perm-made gas turbine power plants were put into operation at Bashkirenergo, OJSC we have been providing service for them, too. In particular, we participate actively in routine maintenance. The rest of the time is dedicated to maintaining operability of the equipment together with Aviadvigatel's engineers.
At first we were pleasantly surprised with technology intensiveness of gas turbine power plants designed by Aviadvigatel. I mean special tools, spare parts, components and assemblies - every little thing is well-thought-out and easy to handle even at the first acquaintance.
We appreciate high production standards in aircraft engine building industry and aerospace technologies.  Our staff received a specialized training and became able to perform some types of scheduled maintenance works. If we have questions, we can always refer to specialists from Operating and Maintenance Department for prompt and constructive answer. Sometimes we get more than one solution for one problem. If more qualified help is needed, representatives from Design Bureau come without delay to our facilities.
If you want to speak about the first impression from Ural-4000 power plant - the impression is good. When the first Urals came to Bolsheustikinskoye and Agidel, we understood they were the first machines in full-scale production which would probably have their «child diseases», and we ex-pected big problems. But the problems did not arrive. Certainly, we have a question now and then, but no big nuisance from Perm-made equipment, it works well and supplies power and heat in a stable manner.

Next year Bashkirenergo OJSC expects a new delivery from Aviadvigatel: GTES-16PA and GTES-25PE power plants. Bashkortostan Government carries out an active policy of extending small power generation in order to supply power and heat to all hard-to-get-to territories of the Republic. Bashkirenergo found the best solution for it: gas turbine equipment of Aviadvigatel.

The next conference on Perm-made gas turbine power plants operation will be held in 2009 with still more participants: companies that received gas turbine equipment from Aviadvigatel in this year, including the housing maintenance and utilities company from Zvenigorod, Lukoil - Zapadnaya Sibir, CHP-13 plant from Perm, and other operators will join the usual participants.
